his kit is a direct fit for automatic Skoda Octavia, Superb, and Yeti (Snowman) models equipped with a DSG (Dual-Clutch Transmission) shift system. It is designed to match VAG-platform gear rods perfectly.

No. That is the main advantage of our kit. Unlike other options that force you to pry apart fragile plastic trim pieces and reassemble the internal springs and buttons, this is a complete, pre-built straight-swap core. You just pull your old one off and slide this one on.
Do I need to buy a new leather boot/gaiter?

No. You reuse your existing factory leather boot. The bottom neck of our upgrade shifter assembly is designed for your original boot to slide straight onto, securing tightly with the included single-ear clamp.
Why is there a plastic red pin in the assembly?
Why is there a plastic red pin in the assembly?
That is a vital shipping safety pin. Do not pull out the red pin until the shift knob is pushed completely down onto your car's metal shift rod. It keeps the side-release button from shifting or jamming during transit and installation.

No complex tools are required. You will just need a standard trim removal tool (or a carefully used flathead screwdriver) to pop up your center console trim panel, and a pair of side cutters or pliers to crimp the included single-ear Oetiker clamp securely around the boot collar.
